Natural Hair Treatments

Natural hair treatments can help bring your over-processed hair back to health and beauty. We bleach, color, perm and straighten our hair, not to mention, use heat processes such as blow-drying, straightening irons and curling irons on our hair. Then we wonder why our hair is dry, brittle and looks dead! We try so hard to get beautiful hair that we kill it in the process.

Fortunately, there is help available for your poor, tired hair. You can made natural hair treatments such as hair masks, creams and hair oils to help revive what you have tortured in the name of fashion.

Natural hair treatments such as using eggs to wash your hair, vinegar for a rinse to add shine, adding volume by rinsing with flat beer have been around for generations. It’s not that they don’t work well; they do. We’ve just been brainwashed by all the advertising campaigns constantly telling us that there is no way we can ever look attractive, or have healthy, shiny hair without using their products.

Honey Hair-Health Restorer

Ingredients:

2 tsp honey

2 tsp jojoba or coconut oil

5 drops geranium or rosemary essential oil

Method:

Warm the oil and honey together, either in a small bowl or cup set in a larger bowl of hot water, or in the microwave. (If using the microwave, only heat for small bursts of time, and check temperature. Don’t make it too hot; this is going on your hair and scalp.) Remove from heat; add essential oil of your choice.

Apply honey and oil mixture to your hair, making sure to rub some into your scalp as well. Cover your hair in a plastic shower cap or plastic bag. Wrap a towel that you have warmed up in the dryer around your plastic shower cap- or plastic bag covered hair. Leave on for 15-20 minutes, then rinse well and shampoo with a mild shampoo.
